Lot 357 from the New Zealand Bloodstock sale at Karaka in 2023 is this stunning filly by Champion European sprinter Blue Point. Blue point was the ultimate racehorse. Not only was he good enough to win 3 times as a 2yr old, including the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes at York, he trained on as an older horse.
Blue Point went on to win 2 stakes races as a 3yr old, and as a 4yr old, he won the Group 1 King’s Stand at Royal Ascot. Furthermore, he came back the following year as a 5yr old to not only defend his Crown in the Group 1 Kings Stand, he also won the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot and the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan. He had 5 starts as a 5yr old, for an incredible 5 victories, 3 at Group 1 level.
Our filly is out of Mojave Aster, a Zabeel mare, who was a winner over 1600m. Mojave Aster has already produced 2 winners over 1300m to 1800m, which suggests our filly will be scopey enough to stretch out to 1600m as a 3yr old and beyond. Mojave Aster is a full Sister to multiple Group 2 winner Lafleur, and descends from the family of Habibti, Octagonal and Diamond Lover.
