The Novelist romped in at Kembla with James Innes Jnr in the saddle to score what was a very impressive victory at his first race start.  Trained by the Bott / Waterhouse team, the colt is by Written By out of the Snitzel mare Sunlit.

He flew the gates at rocket speed, took up his position in the lead and settled beautifully into and took full control of the race.  On the home turn, he sprinted clear and never looked like being run down, with his margin increasing with every stride he took, eventually winning by 5.5 lengths.

Tricolours Director James Moss said "What an absolute professional he is, he is all class. He has an all-female syndicate, and I could not be more thrilled for the ladies.  We are forging head with plans to hopefully qualify him for the Magic Millions in January, and if he gets there - he will be incredibly hard to beat "
