3 year old Kermadec filly Akermative had her first start at the Gold Coast on the weekend, finishing 2nd in a very pleasing run, showing that she is one to follow. The filly, who has taken time to mature, is trained by Trent and Toby Edmonds on the Gold Coast. They have taken a patient approach with her to build up her fitness and confidence as she headed towards this first run of her career.

Tricolours Director James Moss said "That was a brilliant debut from our filly. She jumped well, but was left a bit flat footed early which is to be expected for a filly who will get out over a trip. I thought she was terrific late. All we wanted from her today was to see her close off late, and she did just that"

Plans are currently being made for her next race.
