Book 2 of the Magic Millions sale has been a happy hunting ground for the team over the past few years. Ballistic Lover, Manuscript, and this years Magic Millions Ladies bonus winner The Playwright were all book 2 purchases. We are incredibly excited to by partnering with Tony and Maddy Sears in this exceptional colt by outstanding racehorse Pierata. Pierata was a Group 1 winner on the track, winning the Group 1 All Aged Stakes against a quality field. READY TO SCHIPP SAILS TO VICTORY !

Ready to Schipp recorded an important metropolitan win to her name with the rescheduled race from the previous Saturday (due to meeting being abandoned) over to Wednesday 16th April at Doomben, pocketing over $97,000 for her connections with the added QTIS prize money !A beautifully executed ride from a good barrier saw Kyle Wilson Taylor settle a lot closer in running than usual, and they were right within striking distance upon straightening on the heavy track. A peach of a ride from Kyle and an outstanding training performance from Toby Edmonds and Stephen McLean. TOESONTHENOSE WINS AT THE GoLD COAST !

Toesonthenose wins his seventh career race and first in Queensland with a gutsy win at the Gold Coast (23rd March) with Jace McMurray on board.He had been knocking on the door following two placings in town, and the drop back to Provincial did the trick. He is so loved and has been a terrific racehorse for his devoted ownership group. Looking to step him up to 1600m next start. "Toes" has thrived under Jack Bruce who has done such an incredible job with him as he heads into his twilight years of racing.

THE PLAYWRIGHT WINS ON DEBUT - WHAT A WIN !

Tricolours Racing very nearly got to the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in 2023 with speedy Written By colt The Novelist ... and could well get there in 2025 with The Playwright, a filly by the same sire in Written By and trained by the Waterhouse / Bott team just as The Novelist was. The Playwright has scored an outstanding victory at Rosehill (30th Nov), in The Ranvet Handicap over 1100m lining up against a hot field of talented 2 year olds, she flew the gates and given an excellent front running ride by Regan Bayliss. The 2025 Magic Millions 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast in January is a very possible target for her, but connections aren't getting too ahead of themselves at this point. Director of Tricolours Racing, James Moss said "That was a very tough win from our filly. She put away a very high profile group of 2yr olds today and was taken on the whole way - but she just wouldn't lie down. The filly has an all-female ownership group and I am absolutely thrilled for them. And a masterful training performance from Gai and Adrian, it's so very exciting. BOOMING BIANCA EXPLODES ON DEBUT !

Talented 3yo Spirit of Boom filly trained by Toby Edmonds & Stephen McLean showed a brilliant turn of foot to score on debut with jockey Brandon Lerena at the Sunshine Coast over 1100m(24th Nov). The filly settled in behind them under a lovely patient ride from Lerena, she attacked the line strongly once in clear air and won easily. Being a QTIS filly she collected extra prize-money for her connections, taking her winnings to just over $32,000. She was a $30,000 purchase for Tricolours Racing, and her owners have been well rewarded for their patience with this filly who is still going to continue to improve in time Director Tricolours Racing James Moss said "She travelled beautifully in transit after the awkward start, but Brandon did a terrific job. He slotted her in behind the pace, and she settled well. I was very confident turning for home that we were going better than anything. The most exciting thing is that we are pretty sure she isn't an 1100m horse. She should improve with time and racing and will get out further in trip. THE NOVELIST WRITES HIS NEXT CHAPTER WITH AN OUTSTANDING WIN AT KEMBLA !

Lightly raced 4yo gelding The Novelist, trained by the crack Waterhouse / Bott partnership scored a super impressive win at Kembla (23rd Nov) on "The Gong" Day on a very fast track. He tenaciously outgunned his rivals with Molly Bourke in the saddle. Nicknamed Flash, he burst onto the racing scene in late 2022 winning his first two starts including the Group 3 BRC BJ McLachlan Stakes and was favoured for the 2023 Magic Millions 2YO Classic, before being withdrawn due to an injury which kept him off the ring scene for an extended period of time. he was has well and truly bounced back from what has been a tough couple of years due to the injury. Director of Tricolours Racing, James Moss said "He was so incredibly brave, Molly did a terrific job. She controlled the tempo, got to the best part of the track, and despite looking certain to run second at about the 200m mark, he just lifted. As soon as that other horse got to him, he just refused to lay down, such a gutsy performance from both Flash and Molly". The Novelist showed all his fighting qualities to score this big win for his all female ownership group ! Karaka proves a happy hunting ground again!

We love going to the New Zealand Bloodstock sales at Karaka to source our horses, and we thing we have secured two elite two year olds at the Ready To Run Sale. The NZB Ready To Run sale has produced Group 1 horses year after year. Mr Brightside, Te Akau Shark, Golden Sixty, Gingernuts and Ceolwulf just to name a few!So we were delighted to secure two really nice horses from the sale. Firstly, lot 116 is a Contributer filly out of Pipsqueak Rose. She is out of a winning Alamosa mare, who is a half sister to Group 1 winner Lion's Roar. That makes our filly a 3/4 sister to a Group 1 winner!Bred to stay, we were incredibly impressed with her breeze up. For a horse who will be aimed at classic staying races, she shows a lovely turn of foot in her breeze up, and was the 4th fastest filly of the entire sale. She is a stunning physical too, a big strong filly with plenty of scope, the perfect horse for John Sargent to guide to all the classic races in her 3yr old season. Watch her breeze up below! Our second purchase was a strong gelding by outstanding sire Better Than Ready. He is out of a Fastnet Rock mare in Garter. He just looks a ready mare race horse this guy, and being fully paid up for the lucrative QTIS Bonus scheme, he looks the perfect horse to join our stable with Toby Edmonds. We loved the way he knuckled down and lengthened in his breeze up, and Toby and I were both really impressed with how he paraded at the sale. Much like all from the sire, he is a typical Better Than Ready. A great attitude, strong physical, and a real tough looking type. BRAZIL WINS AT KEMBLA !

Exciting 4 year old gelding Brazil has continued to build an impressive record since transferring to Mitch Beer's stables earlier this year, with a strong win at Kembla (Nov 16) over 1500m with Blake Spriggs on board. 7 months ago Brazil caught the eye of James Moss, Director of Tricolours Racing when he was placed up for sale as a tried by his previous ownership group after having a few starts. Moss knows this family well, having syndicated and raced Brazil's mother Pecans who was a multiple Stakes performer in 2017 / 2018 for Tricolours Racing."He is such a progressive type, a seriously nice racehorse and the best is most definitely to come" said Moss. "He nearly fell at his last race start as he was badly buffeted in the straight but was still able to finish 2nd, when he was entitled to drop right out of the race at that point. We weren't sure how he would bounce back from that but we needn't have worried, he put them away superbly today. I am so thrilled for his owners as well as Mitch and his team who have a done a terrific job with him from Day One".Indications are that Brazil can get out to 2000m in time, possibly further. HARLOW MIST BACK IN THE WINNER'S CIRCLE !

Talented 4 year old mare Harlow Mist, trained by John Sargent, returned to winning form with a gutsy win and a 10/10 ride from Nash Rawiller at Newcastle over 1600m (BM72) on 16th November. She settled midfield with Nash then looking for a run on straightening, she chased hard to find the front 200m out and fought on gamely to grab the win in a perfectly timed ride."Really great to see that performance today", said James Moss Director of Tricolours Racing. "We brought her back in the Autumn and she just didn't come up for that prep, so we gave her a nice long break. Her first run was an eye-catcher which gave us confidence that she was back on track. She has showed a lot of grit and tenacity to get the job done today with a masterful ride from Nash. Manuscript bolts in to break his Maiden

Manuscript claimed his first victory in style at Wyong on November 9, 2024, winning the 1000m maiden in impressive fashion. The 3-year-old gelding, trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott and ridden by Jean Van Overmeier, controlled the tempo from the outset, before unleashing a strong finishing burst in the final 200m to win by a widening 3 lengths. It was a well-deserved breakthrough after a long injury lay off, showcasing his growing maturity and ability. Jockey Jean Van Overmeire took bad luck out of the equation, allowing the gelding to find his rhythm before asking for his best effort. Tricolours Director, James Moss, couldn't have been more pleased for his owners. "He really deserved that win. He showed amazing potential as a 2yr old, but was injured at his only start. He should really be undefeated. His owners have been very supportive and patient in allowing us to manage his return to the races, so hopefully now they will continue to be rewarded". Cashburn brings up her first win in style !

Lovely 3 year old Capitalist filly Cashburn, trained by Annebel Neasham and Rob Archibald, won her maiden in fine style at Nowra over 1400m (20th Oct) with Alysha Collett in the saddle. "That was a very nice win for our filly today", said Jame Moss, Director of Tricolours Racing "I thought it was a very good ride from Alysha who had to take off on at the 600m as there was nothing to cart her in to the race, but the filly made her own luck and held on really well late".Congratulations to her ownership group ! ELETTRICA AND MOLLY STRIKE AGAIN !

Bonny mare Elettrica notched up an outstanding victory (2nd Nov) on Golden Eagle Day at Rosehill over 1300m (BM 78), taking her earnings to almost $400,000. Trained by Richard and Will Freedman, the 6 year old mare was in career-best form in her previous campaign, which has carried over into her current prep. All the signs are showing that the best is yet to come.James Moss, Director of Tricolours said "she is such a tough mare who is really enjoying her racing, I could not be more proud of her. She is building a lovely partnership with Molly Bourke who knows her so well, and all kudos to Richard and Will Freedman and their team - they have done a fantastic job with her since she came into their stable just over 18 months ago". Ready To Schipp breaks the track record!

At just her second career start, Ready To Schipp broke the Gold Coast Poly Track record with an outstanding performance on Saturday. Ridden by Sean Cormack and trained by Toby Edmonds, Ready To Schipp jumped well from a soft gate and settled outside the lead. As the field straightened, it was clear she was traveling beautifully, but she surged ahead with incredible momentum, winning by a widening 4.8 lengths and setting a new track record in the process. The win was not a surprise to the team, as she had been ultra-impressive on debut despite racing over an unsuitable distance. Ready To Schipp may now move on to metro Saturday grade and is an exciting prospect for the future. Congratulations to all her owners!

Ningaloo Star now a Stakes Performer!

Ningaloo Star and Molly Bourke came close to achieving a remarkable victory at Wyong on Sunday in the Listed Mona Lisa Stakes. Trained by John Sargent, the mare displayed immense courage, tracking just outside the lead and delivering a strong kick in the straight. However, she was narrowly overtaken by Terra Mater in the final moments. Though she fell just short of a career-defining win, her second-place finish adds a valuable stakes result to her record of seven wins, enhancing her future breeding prospects. Additionally, her half-brother, Stay Focused, also made a notable performance over the weekend, securing third place in the Group 3 McNeill Stakes at Caulfield. EASY VICTORY FOR RUSH ATTACK !

3yo Brave Smash gelding Rush Attack scored an easy win at Kempsey over 1450m (30th July) for his first start for Nathan Doyle, which also brought up his second career win. He was placed beautifully for this race, and backed up with a lovely ride from Ben Osmond. "Really pleasing to see the win there today from Rush Attack at his first start with Nathan, he has shown good ability right from the start", said Tricolours Director James Moss. "He seems to have really got into his groove now and has finished Top 4 at his last 4 starts. There is still improvement to come and we are really looking forward to the prep ahead".Congratulations to all his owners. His next run is currently being planned by Nathan Doyle.

NINGALOO STAR DOMINATES AND BOLTS IN AT THE KENSO !

The John Sargent trained mare Ningaloo Star scored an emphatic victory at the Kensington track (15th May) with Molly Bourke in the saddle. The 4 year old mare dominated and was a class above her rivals over the 1250m.James Moss, Director of Tricolours Racing said "That was outstanding. We were confident going into the race that if she brought her A game, she would be very hard to beat. And bring her A-game she did, and Molly rode her an absolute treat. She is in career best order and her 2 runs this campaign have been excellent."John Sargent is currently planning Ningaloo Star's next race, . "She has come back in super order and is a really seasoned race mare now, we will continue to progress her through the grades and there might be a nice Stakes race or two for her to compete in this prep" said James Moss. The Novelist - he's back !

It had been a long 455 day wait between runs for the very talented 3 year old colt The Novelist, trained by the Waterhouse / Bott stable. After commencing his early 2 year old career in late 2022, where he won 2 from 2 including the Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes, he was one of the favourites heading to the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January 2023. Unfortunately he sustained a leg injury which sidelined him for over 12 months. His recovery was very carefully and patiently managed by the team at Hannover lodge. He came into work a few months back, and was progressing beautifully with his work, and all the signs were that he was back on track. He trialled impressively ... and on Golden Slipper day at Rosehill, he contested the listed Darby Munro Stakes over 1200m with Tim Clark in the saddle. He flew the gates and led the field impressively, and at one stage in the straight, looked like he could win - but was run down in the closing stages to finish 4th, only 1.2 lengths from the winner. A large. all-ladies ownership group was on track to watch his return and cheer him on. "He is back !", said James Moss, Director of Tricolours. "He was such an exciting 2 year old, and terrible luck that he sustained the injury which kept him out of racing all this time. Absolutely delighted to see him back with such great heart and wanting to compete. Honestly would have just been happy to see him go around and finish back in the field, knowing he would take huge fitness benefit from the run given his long absence. Someone clearly forgot to tell him that!"Plans are currently being made for his next start, with some big Autumn Carnival targets in mind.

Elettrica bolts in on Golden Slipper Day !!!

It was s sensational victory for Elettrica and jockey Molly Bourke in the opening race (Midway) on Golden Slipper Day at Rosehill. Trained by Richard and Will Freedman, Elettrica has been one of the most consistent race-mares in Sydney. At her last couple of starts, she was very unlucky not to have won, drawing wide barriers which saw her finishing a gallant second both times."That was a stunning victory there today said James Moss," Director of Tricolours Racing "she is absolutely flying, Will and Richard have done an amazing job to really tap into the psyche of this mare and she is a happy and healthy horse who is enjoying her racing. Huge kudos to Molly Bourke too, she handles this mare beautifully and the way she was able to steer her through a very tight gap in the closing stages was just brilliant".Elettrica will now likely be given a little freshen up for a few weeks before heading north to target some black type races in Qld in the winter..

TOESONTHENOSE - OUTCLASSES HIS RIVALS AT NEWCASTLE WITH A COMMANDING WIN

The very popular Toesonthenose (affectionately known as "Toes") was given a peach of a ride by Nash Rawiller and was too strOng for his rivals at Newcastle on 18th November for John Sargent. Tricolours Director James Moss said "He is flying but had no luck at all the past couple of runs. Yet again, he drew another tricky gate, but Nash found the fence, peeled out in the home straight and Toes did the rest ! He is better than midway grade. PARACHUTER DROPS IN WITH A WIN AT IPSWICH !

Lightly raced 6 year old mare Parachuter scored an excellent and long-awaited win at Ipswich (16 Nov) for Team Edmonds and Ryan Maloney, wit her previous win more than 2 years ago. Edmonds Racing have done a magnificent job getting her back to the races, nursing this mare back from the brink of retirement. Popular 4 year old race-mare Ningaloo Star scored a gutsy victory on Melbourne Cup Day at Randwick over 1300m in a BM 64 for John Sargent. Molly Bourke gave her a 10 out of 10 ride, allowing Ningaloo Star to find her place in the pack ensuring she was always up near the pace. Rounding the home turn, Ningaloo Star showed impressive acceleration to boldly take the lead and she held on for a really tenacious win."She has been flying, this mare, without any luck," said James Moss, Director of Tricolours Racing "Today it all came together, and it was the sweetest of victories. Winning return for Rotorua !

After a long absence from the track, talented 4 year old Star Witness mare Rotorua returned to the races in fine style with a commanding victory over 1200m at Kembla (12th Oct) for Richard and Will Freedman. Jockey Tyler Schiller was able to settle near the back of the field and then on the home turn found clear running wide and with a quick turn of foot Rotorua was able to charge home for a superb victory."What a brilliant return to the races, we thought she would go well but to be fair - wasn't quite expecting that today first-up given how long it has been since she last raced" said James Moss, Director of Tricolours Racing. "She had a minor injury setback early this year which required surgery and rehab, she recovered really well, we took our time with her - and she comes out and does that today. Outstanding three-year old filly Harlow Mist has taken all before her to win three from three and book herself a ticket in the VRC (Kennedy) Oaks in November. The Contributer filly, trained by the Oaks master John Sargent, guaranteed herself a start in the classic with her win in the Kennedy Oaks Preview (1800m) at Flemington with Mick Dee on board.Sargent said "It was a big jump out today as she's been winning in the country. She's got a decent-sized heart. Today was a fork in the road as to whether we wait for autumn or carry on with her now in the spring, but after that performance, we definitely will keep going." Absolutely Electric !!! Elettrica breaks through for 1st Australian win

5 year old race-mare Elettrica finally scores a much deserved win at Randwick (26th Aug) for Richard and Will Freedman, at her first attempt over the 1800m. Jockey Jason Collett was able to peel off the fence in the straight at just the right time and she proved far too strong in the closing stages on a very impressive win.The much-loved mare, who was purchased as a tried race filly from New Zealand around 18 months ago by Tricolours Racing has been racing in great heart but kept finding bad luck. "This win has been a long time coming, it means such a lot to see her finally break through in Australia for her wonderful ownership group" said Tricolours Racing Director James Moss. "Her ownership group have been very patient and supportive, and they are absolutely delighted. She really deserves this win. Written By colt The Novelist has completed an extended spell and is set to return back into work with Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott to commence his prep for the Spring Carnival. The Novelist, who has an all-female ownership, was one of the highly fancied runners leading into the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January. However he had an injury setback which ruled him out of the race and the entire Autumn Carnival. Party For One goes back to back at Headquarters!

Exciting mare Party For One has continued to impress since joining the stables of Mick Price and Michael Kent at Cranbourne. After 2 unlucky performances at Sandown, when getting back and flying home, she has now posted back to back wins at Flemington in super impressive fashion. On the 13th of May, she stepped up to the 1400m with Blake Shinn on board, and after settling in a prominent position, she was held up until the 200m, before showing her customary turn off foot, blowing the field away to win by a widening 2L.3 weeks later, she returned to the same track and trip, this time asked to lump 60kgs from a wide draw. With Blake Shinn in the saddle again, she showed great gate speed to settle in a lovely spot early, and despite being asked to make a long, sustained run, she was again way too good to register back to back wins. Mick and Michael have done a terrific job with the mare, and stakes races are calling in the Spring. Straight after the win yesterday, Michael Kent Jn was already eyeing off some nice mares races over the carnival. We will see how she pulls up, but she may head back to Flemington for one more run this prep over 1400m. Congratulations to all her owners, which include Silverdale Farm.

Back to back wins for Toesonthnose on Anzac Day !

Super-consistent Ocean Park gelding Toesonthenose scored a resounding win at Randwick on Anzac Day in what will be his last race for Mark Newnham, who is re-locating to Hong Kong. Tom Sherry gave him a perfect run in transit which saw him take control in the straight and win comfortably. Toesonthenose will now make a smooth and quick transition straight into the stables of his new trainer, John Sargent.That was a brilliant s win from "Toes", he is in terrific form and loving his racing, it was an honour to have him lining up at Randwick on Anzac Day and we are very grateful for the fantastic job that Mark Newnham has done with up till now," said Tricolours Director, James Moss. "He is such a genuine racehorse and is progressing all the time. He may get out to 1800m / 2000m in time as his breeding suggests, which would option up a lot of options. Toesonthenose wins at Newcastle !

Yet another winner for Tricolours, this time Toesonthenose. Despite being caught wide for the whole trip, he was too strong in the last at Newcastle (12th April) over the 1400m. Perfectly placed by Mark Newnham and a confident ride from Tom Sherry sees "Toes" impressive record continue to build. The 4 year old gelding by Ocean Park, has career stats so far sitting at 9: 2-2-3"This horse tries his best every single time and in 9 starts, he has finished in the top three on 7 occasions. He is just a model of consistency," said Tricolours Director, James Moss. Opacity bounces back in winning style !

Opacity scored an impressive win at Doomben in a BM85 Handicap (8th April) over 1640m to deliver his ownership group a well deserved victory. He was given a lovely ride by Andrew Mallyon and was too strong late, winning by half a length. It has been a great training performance from Trent and Toby Edmonds who have taken a very patient approach with the 6 year old gelding since he transferred into their Gold Coast stable from Sydney in October 2022."That's a huge result on the back of a lot of hard work from Team Edmonds, just getting to know him and working him out over the last six months,"said Tricolours Director James Moss "I never stopped believing in him, and the first couple of runs this prep were all about building him up to today. He put the writing on the wall two starts back when he finished 2nd, and I was feeling really confident about what he could do out there today."His next race is currently being planned.Opacity was purchased by Tricolours as a tried horse in mid 2022. He had a very good record as a younger horse but had tapered off in his performances as a then 5 year old, and his previous ownership group put him up for sale. 3 year old Kermadec filly Akermative had her first start at the Gold Coast on the weekend, finishing 2nd in a very pleasing run, showing that she is one to follow. The filly, who has taken time to mature, is trained by Trent and Toby Edmonds on the Gold Coast. Dorothy Gail books her spot in the $2 million Inglis Millennium !

A stunning victory from 2yr old Capitalist filly Dorothy Gail today at Scone over 900m for Annabel Neasham and Alysha Collett has seen her rocket into Millennium calculations where she will almost certainly take her place in the field in 2 weeks time.A decision was made by Annabel to bypass the group 3 Widden Stakes at Rosehill on 28th January, and instead opt for the "safer" option in contesting today's 2 year old maiden at Scone, a race she had to win to have enough price money overall to be in the Millennium.She overhauled favourite Tarabeau in the straight and was just too good today, drawing away from the pack and really running through the line."That was such an impressive win. She did a few things wrong in that race, and even then she was still able to pin the ears back and hit the line" said Tricolours Director James Moss. "She is a really nice filly, and we have some lovely target races for her in Autumn after the Millennium. The Halo scores a dominant victory at Wyong

Brad Widdup trained mare The Halo won in impressive fashion at Wyong (18th Jan) over the 1350m, ending a run of bad luck that has plagued the 4year old More Than Ready mare. Brett Prebble gave her a perfect ride where she jumped cleanly, settled well, and then put the foot down when asked in the straight and drew away from the rest of the field winning by 4 lengths. Tricolours Racing Director James Moss said "I thought her first-up run this prep at Gosford finishing 4th was excellent, so it was great to see her finally get some luck today. I have always been a big believer in this filly but from the start of her career, nothing has gone her way. So Greysful wins at Mornington !

Stunning 3 year old grey Capitalist filly So Greysful, has scored a tough, gutsy win at only her 2nd career start over 1200m at Mornington for Peter Moody. In-form jockey Carleen Hefel gave her a perfect ride throughout and had her relax nicely at the front of the field from the jump. The filly, affectionately known as "Gracie" was challenged down the straight in an enthralling two horse duel, but she was able to show a fighting, tenacious quality to win by a nose."That was a good win, she has been a work in progress, this filly," said James Moss Director of Tricolours. 2 YO The Novelist on track for Magic Millions after stunning debut win !

The Novelist romped in at Kembla with James Innes Jnr in the saddle to score what was a very impressive victory at his first race start. Trained by the Bott / Waterhouse team, the colt is by Written By out of the Snitzel mare Sunlit. He flew the gates at rocket speed, took up his position in the lead and settled beautifully into and took full control of the race. On the home turn, he sprinted clear and never looked like being run down, with his margin increasing with every stride he took, eventually winning by 5.5 lengths. Rotorua wins at Nowra

Another winner for Tricolours Racing ! 3 year old Star Witness filly Rotorua, trained by Mark Newnham, brought up her first career win at only her second start in a very impressive performance. Tyler Schiller carved out a swift course through the field with the filly after she missed the start. She loomed on the turn to take control of the race and was too strong, too fast, too good. "Wow, that was something special. She was agitated behind the gates when loading, then she missed the start - absolutely nothing was going to plan at that point" said Director of Tricolours James Moss, "but her class prevailed and she really served it up to them and was too strong. That win was full of merit and her ownership group is over the moon, We could have a very serious racehorse here."Plans are being made for Rotorua's next race. Gold Witness wins at Goulburn

Smart 3 year old gelding Gold Witness gets the first win of his career over 1600m at just his 4th career start for Gai Waterhouse / Adrian Bott.. Steered by Willie Pike, he gave away a huge start after being shuffled back in the field, but finished right over the top to score a resounding win. Tricolours Racing has just announced their Christmas Party to be held at the Rosehill Gadens race-day on Saturday 3rd December, 2022. The Team Edmonds racing stable have been very impressed with their young charge and are looking forward to seeing him back after his break with a real sense that he will continue to improve and progress through the grades. Spring sees the return of a trio of Tricolours high-profile racehorses as follows: Gin Martini – this 4 year old mare, trained by John Sargent coming off two recent trials and heading to the Group 2 Golden Pendant over 1400m on 24th September as her kick off point for her Spring campaign. She will be stepping up in distance as she goes deeper into her prep towards Listed and Group level races, and she looks to have come back in fantastic order. Party For One – our lovely mare trained by Joe Pride has had one start back where she didn’t get much luck and we look forward to seeing what she can do this prep. She is a very promising race-mare. Blackjack Boom – “Boomer” trialled nicely recently and has come back very well for Trent and Toby Edmonds who are very happy to have him back in the stables and he is all ready to go for his next prep. His career stats so far are an impressive 7: 4-1-0 and hopefully we see a continuation of that excellent form.

The highly promising Cool ‘N’ Ready makes it 3 wins on the trot, and absolutely bolts in at Doomben (2oth August) with James Orman on board. “Very smart horse this, that’s now 3 wins from 4 starts and he has banked over $120k in Prizemoney in his very first race prep,” said James Moss, Director of Tricolours Racing. “It’s been a great training performance by Trent and Toby Edmonds who have placed him beautifully and it was a super ride by arguably Queensland’s best jockey Jimmy Orman”. The Halo scores superb maiden victory !

Our lovely 3 year old filly The Halo (by More than Ready) scored her maiden victory yesterday (28th July) for Brad Widdup at Bathurst over a 1400m trip with Jean Van Overmeire on board She settled back in the field and as the field rounded the turn, Overmeire was able to pick a gap and make her run for home and won the race comfortably. “She has been very unlucky with not a lot going right for her in her races and has actually been in really good form.’ said Tricolours Director James Moss “that was a great win today and a huge congratulations to her very patient owners. Let’s hope she goes on with it now, as she has always shown that she has good ability”

Cool ‘N’ Ready breaks through !

Another 2 year old winner for the team with Cool ‘N’ Ready very impressive in breaking his maiden at just start number 2 for Trent / Toby Edmonds. It’s never easy to beat the older horses, but the Better than Ready gelding did just that with a very smart win at the lucrative Rockhampton Carnival on 8th July. “That was a great ride from Robbie Fradd, and a super training effort from Team Edmonds,” said James Moss Director of Tricolours “he is a very smart horse with a big future, one to follow for sure. We are thrilled.”

Ningaloo Star scores great win at 3rd career start

The John Sargent trained Ningaloo Star ran an impressive race at Goulburn (1300m) with Andrew Adkins aboard, to notch her first win at only her 3rd start. The smart Deep Field filly has improved with each race outing, and she holds a special place in the Tricolours stable being the half sister to their excellent race-mare Miss Moana from a few years back. Director of Tricolours James Moss said “That was a terrific win from her, she is really furnishing into a lovely racehorse. She’ll likely get out a bit further in trip, and hopefully we can target some really nice races for her in the future. We will give a little freshen up now and then will bring her back”. The filly’s next race is currently being planned. “We have a mix of brand new owners to Tricolours as well as existing long-time Tricolours owners in her ownership group, and everyone is so excited to be a part of her” said Moss.

Ballistic Lover sells for $1 million !!!

Our outstanding race-mare Ballistic Lover has sold at auction today (24th May) to the winning bidder China Horse Club for $1 million at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale. She was offered by Newgate Farm as the agent for Tricolours Racing. Director of Tricolours Racing James Moss said “This is an incredible result, we are absolutely thrilled, she has been a wonderful race mare for her ownership group, and trained brilliantly by Joe Pride. I have no doubt she will be a very successful broodmare and really looking forward to seeing her progeny dawn the track”. Moss went on to say “Ballistic Lover was an $80,000 purchase and she went on to be a Group 1 performed mare, competing at the highest level. We are really sad to see her go, but delighted with this sales result and so very proud of all that she achieved – she has been an absolute star”.

Party For One – now 2 Stakes Placings !

Progressive filly Party For One ran a mighty race in the Group 3 JHB Carr Stakes at Randwick on 16th April for Joe Pride to finish 2nd, with only star Group performer Espiona beating her home. Regan Bayliss gave her a lovely ride in transit, and she was tenacious all the way to the line to bring up her first Stakes placing. “Superb run that”, said James Moss, Director of Tricolours Racing “we are very proud of her, she just keeps getting more furnished each time she steps out. There’s a substance and a real quality about her. She could be a potential Group 1 horse in the making”. She backed it up with a terrific 3rd in the Group 3 Hawkesbury Guineas on 30th April over 1400m where again, she finished strongly through the line. Now dual Stakes placed, Party For One is a progressive filly who is going from strength to strength. Plans currently being made for her next run.

A stunning 3rd for Gin Martini in the G1 ATC Oaks !

Progressive 3yo filly Gin Martini ran a brave front-running race to finish 3rd in the Group 1 2400m ATC Oaks at Royal Randwick on 9th April for trainer John Sargent and a devoted group of owners. “She was absolutely incredible out there today, so gusty,” said Director of Tricolours Racing James Moss. He went on to say “She took the race right up to them, proving her strong staying pedigree, and was only overrun in the last stages of the race. We are so very proud of her, she is all class and I genuinely believe she will be winning a Group 1 race very soon, she very nearly did it today!” Tricolours Racing confirmed that John Sargent is eyeing off the upcoming G1 Queensland Oaks as a possible target race for her.

The G1 Australian Oaks awaits Gin Martini

Classy 3 year old filly Gin Martini takes her place in the The Star Australian Oaks over 2400m at Randwick on 9th April for trainer John Sargent. Robbie Dolan takes the ride. “She has been set for this race for a long time and if she run up to her best, she is a good each-way chance”. says Tricolours Director James Moss. “We really feel like she is ready to take the step up to 2400m now, it’s very exciting for her ownership group. She has taken them on quite the ride at Group level having lined up in the Champagne Stakes as a 2 year old last autumn where she was very unlucky. She will give this a red hot go”
